| It has come to my attention that alot of people do not know how to correctly post HTML code into MSN messages. Maybe the following tutorial will help. I have used an example quiz results from Quizilla.com The quiz name is 'What kind of Killer are You?' So lets get started: 1. After you have taken your little quiz and got the results, you should see a box at the bottom with some HTML code in it. Now, if you do not know what HTML code is, I will elborate. If it has alot of text and these things < > in it, then probably HTML code. Those are called carrots or 'HTML TAGS' They are very important in making sure your post comes out correctly. 2. So you want to highlight ALL of it and right mouse click and copy (Advanced users can use the key board command for copy Ctrl C). You can apply this to any HTML code you want to post in a MSN message, so long as you copy ALL of it.3. Go to your window that has your group and message board you want to post in. It helps if you have these in two different windows. Now you have one of two choices. If it is a new thread click 'new discussion', if it is an already existing thread click whatever thread you want to go to.4. If course, you should see a window like this:5. Now if it is a new message you want to make sure you type in a subject. For quizez, I usually just type the name of the quiz. You also need to make sure you check that little box in the lower left hand corner that says 'Use HTML to create your page' It will look like this (without the red ovals, of course).6. MSN puts the DIV tags in there for some reason. So far I have found no real purpose that they serve. I usually just delete them. The easiest way to do that is just highlight the DIV tags and you will HAVE to use the keyboard strokes to paste, since MSN will not allow a right mouse click option on these things. So put your cursor in the box and hit Ctrl V at the same time. That is two seperate keys now (the Ctrl key and the letter V key.7. Should look like this now:8. To make sure you copied it right and to avoid those embarrasing mess ups, you should always go back to make sure it looks okay. To do that go back to that little box in the left hand corner that says 'Use HTML to create your page.' UNCHECK IT. You should see your post now as it will be displayed. If the picture doesnt show up right away one of 2 things are wrong. One, the link is not right and you missed some of the code some how or two, the link to the server is down (if this happens it is not your fault and just ignore it.) If it is because you missed a tag, go back and make sure you highlighted everything in Step #2.9. Now you are ready to hit that SEND button at the bottom.10. Once the thread comes up your post should look like this and not a bunch of text with these things < >. Welcome to the basics of Copying and Pasting HTML code into MSN Message Boards. This tutorial is Copyrighted by Malicious. Please to not reproduce in any form. You may link back to this thread in this group.Thank you. | |
